Job Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial analysis and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
  • Assist with the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Handle financial transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update accounting systems and databases.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.


Work Environment:
